DIGITAL KEY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

For a manufacturer of digital private mobile radios, Hidalgo developed a system for managing security key allocation during the manufacturing process. Features of the system are:

3-tier architecture with multiple clients and centralised server functions
software developed in VB and MS Access
database connections use OLE-DB via ADO, encapsulated in a COM component, to ensure there is a database upgrade path
security features include: encryption of sensitive database fields, key generation using a hardware random number generator, dongle based protection sensitive algorithms
bar code reader for product identification and direct writing to CD for key distribution
fully integrated into the terminal manufacturing system.
