PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT - PROOF OF CONCEPT
INET-redwave - FREE SPACE OPTICAL BROADBAND ACCESS SYSTEM

Innovium Networks Limited, a European communications innovator, approached Hidalgo to develop a low cost, proof of concept, demonstration system for them. Working with our P2 partner, Wright Design Limited, we:

• devised a strategy for demonstrating broadband communications without any software development, including bi-directional video, voice and file transfer
• worked closely with the Innovium Networks to devise the mechanical and optical solution
• devised a novel arrangement of off-the-shelf electronic components to provide a low cost working system
• designed and built the mechanical and electrical solution
• assisted with trials and demonstrations of the working prototype.
